Saffron, the world’s most expensive spice, is renowned for its antioxidant properties and distinctive yellow color.
We offer saffron corms in two sizes: Size 1 < 20mm, Size 2 >20mm. Planting corms between September and mid-October in 7b will yield flowers or plants in November. Size 2 will yield flowers this year, with corms larger than 30mm yielding multiple flowers. In contrast, Size 1 will set you up for a harvest next year (although some may produce flowers this year.)
Each flower yields three stigmas (saffron threads). Corms naturally grow and propagate each year, but they require separation every 2-3 years to maintain their health and productivity.
